Weekend by the Bay
Last week, my husband and I visited San Francisco as a little springtime getaway. He already had visited the Bay Area in the past so it wasn't a new experience for him, but we did mange to make it our own for sure. Neither him or I are city people and most of our trips usually include national parks, nature in general or historic (small) towns.
However, I've always wanted to visit San Francisco due to its prominent Victorian architecture, hills and Karl the Fog. I can check two out of three as we got rain, but not much of a fog unfortunately. I did get to indulge in the endless rows of Victorian houses as we walked a lot. A lot.
One of my favorite places we visited was the Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park. A beautiful and peaceful oasis with Japanese maples on every corner which is my equivalent of pure happiness. The sakura trees were in full bloom with its petals flying though the air. I never wanted to leave.
Lastly, after a full day of walking around, we decided to make an obligatory visit to the Golden Gate Bridge. Even though it's probably the most visited bridge in the world and my photos will get lost in the sea of similar images of the structure, this steel giant was epic to witness in real life. We walked to the first tower and touched it symbolically because we're dorks. All the photos were taken from the Presidio of San Francisco side.
I wish we had more time to experience the City and what it has to offer in terms of local food places and secret spots. I suppose it gives us a reason to visit again in the future. God bless.
